The mission of ISSF is to cultivate a tolerant practice of Islam and to educate both Muslims and non-Muslims about Islam through religious, cultural, and recreational activities. Their vision is the emergence of an American Muslim identity founded on compassion, respect, dignity, and love as encompassed in the Qur'an and the example of the Prophet Muhammad.

Food Bank- On a monthly basis ISSF volunteers participate in work at local non-profits such as the San Francisco Food Bank, Project Open Hand and St Anthonys - efforts that go directly to helping other members of our community.
Annually, around Thanksgiving ISSF volunteers collect dried and non-perishable food and work with the Glide Memorial Church Charitable Foundation donating the food to their soup kitchen.
